What motorbike recovery actually involves
Most general recovery firms will take a bike. Far fewer carry a front wheel chock, a set of soft loop straps and enough deck space to secure it upright — which is why bikes turn up with scuffed fairings, bent levers and crushed exhausts.
We recover motorcycles upright in a proper cradle, strapped through the yokes with soft loops, never ratcheted over paintwork or plastics. Sportsbikes, adventure bikes, tourers, cruisers, scooters and mopeds, running or not.
How we do it properly
- Dedicated chock and soft-loop kit carried, not improvised
- Photo condition report before loading and after unloading
- Bike travels upright and located, never on its side
- Riders travel in the cab — you go where your bike goes
Every situation
this covers
Front wheel chock and cradle
The bike travels upright and located, not leaning against a headboard or lying on its side.
Soft loop straps only
Strapped through the yokes and wheels — never over fairings, tanks, levers or exhaust wrap.
Non-runners and crash damage
Seized engines, dropped bikes, snapped chains and bent forks all loaded with a winch and ramp rather than pushed.
Track day and event transport
Booked collection and delivery to circuits, rallies and shows, with the bike secured for the whole run.
Scooters and mopeds
Commuter scooters and 50cc mopeds recovered at the same care level — including after theft recovery.
Multiple bikes
Two or three bikes on one deck for group rides that go wrong, or dealer and collection transfers.

Motorbike Recovery questions
Anything not covered here, just ask — the dispatch desk would rather explain it now than have you worry about it on the hard shoulder.
We use soft loop straps through the yokes and wheels, never over bodywork, and the bike sits in a front wheel chock so it cannot shift. We photograph it before and after loading.
